Details in the environment are much sharper. It is much more obvious with Crysis 2 Remastered where the improvements have been made. Textures have been improved, but even with enhanced visuals, it doesn’t look as good as the second and third instalment. Crysis Remastered looks great, but its age does show it up somewhat. The biggest difference is the trilogy’s optimisation for next-generation consoles. Playing this trilogy on Xbox Series X, I found each one impressive in its own way. I missed Crysis Remastered, but according to reviews, it wasn’t particularly great.

I’m also not a pixel counter, graphical effect analyser or frame rate detector. So, I sampled each of the games here, having played and finished them all on their initial releases. Let’s be clear, no one has the time to play through three remasters for one review (if you do, I’m envious, to be honest). These aren’t perfect games by any means, but it’s quite an achievement that they all feel at home in 2021.
